So You Are Thinking About Coming To Alaska?

Below are all the details we have worked out thus far. After reading through the information below, PLEASE fill out this Google form if you are coming (even if you’re just considering!) so we can keep you in the loop in our planning and know what you would be interested in doing.

Basic Information

Prince of Wales Island is in southeastern Alaska. The closest city to fly into is Ketchikan, which is about an hour flight from Seattle.

The 21st Prince of Wales Island Marathon will take place on Saturday, May 23rd, 2020, which is the Saturday of Memorial Day.

The race also includes a half marathon distance and 4-person or 8-person relay teams. Andrea will be the guest speaker this year.

Read on below for all that will make this race so special…

What Makes This Marathon Special?

The POW Marathon is so much more than a race. The whole community gets involved to support the event.

Andrea will be speaking at three area schools as well as the pre-race pasta dinner on Friday night. After the race, there is an opportunity for a “dash & splash” at the community pool, which includes use of the pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and changing facilities.

An adults-only dance party will take place at the Hill Bar on Saturday evening.

There are marathon, half marathon, 4-person and 8-person relay options. Please indicate which option(s) you are interested in on the Google form.
